If you’re in Brisbane…we cried tears when they axed BIFF a couple of years ago. It just wasn’t quite the same.

Melbourne has MIFF (I’m looking forward to the programme launch next week) Sydney has SFF

Last year, a couple of brave hearts launched the Queensland Film Festival and it’s back again this year with a bigger programme.

Seven of the feature films and twelve of the short films screening this year will be Australian premieres.

The opening night film is Pedro Almodovar’s latest Julieta which I am desperate to see.

QFF2016 runs from the 15th to the 24th of July at the New Farm Cinemas (the new version of the Village Twin) plus there will be some side screenings at the Institute of Modern Art.

Go to the QFF website here for the full programme and ticket information.
