The Melbourne Festival runs from the 6th to the 23rd of October
and the programme has just been released and tickets have gone on sale.
Highlights include a tribute to David Bowie called Nothing Has Changed
with performances by Tim Rogers, Steve Kilbey, Adalita and Deborah Conway
with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
This event will be at Hamer Hall and details are here.
Another amazing highlight is La Belle et La Bete (The Beauty and The Beast) a screening of the 1946 film by Jean Cocteau with the soundtrack and dialogue replaced by a new classical opera composed by Philip Glass and played live by the Philip Glass Orchestra...
Unfortunately Philip Glass will not be conducting which will be done by Michael Reisman.
This event will be at the Melbourne Recital Centre and details are here.
Of course there are many other wonderful music, theatre, dance and visual art events on to keep you busy and you can see them all on the festival website here.
