Marques ' Almeida AW16

Marques ' Almeida is a London based womenswear label created by Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida.

The couple met when enrolling at Portugal's CITEX fashion school, where they both graduated with distinction in 2007.

They both worked internships and international competitions following graduation and Paulo also worked temporarily as a menswear designer.

They both moved to London in 2009 where they gained industry experience with Marta at Vivienne Westwood/Anglomania and Paulo at Preen.

In 2009 they both started the acclaimed Fashion MA at Central Saint Martins where they studied under Louise Wilson.

Marta and Paulo decided to join forces and presented their final collection together.

Following graduation, they showed their first two seasons under Fashion East and after this they were awarded NEWGEN sponsorship from the British Fashion Council.

Marques ' Almeida have showed on schedule at London Fashion Week since Spring/Summer 2013 and in 2015 won the prestigious LVMH Prize.

The brand is mostly known for their innovation with distressed denim but their collections exude a high end aesthetic which is based around lifestyles of the young, modern woman.
